Description Queens Sudan – 1st battalion Northumberland Fusiliers. Queens Sudan, 4193 Pte P.McQuade 1/Northd Fus. Peter McQuade was born in Newcastle on Tyne, Northumberland in 1876. He enlisted on the 29th March 1894, serving at home to 2nd October 1896, Gibraltar to 16th January 1898, Egypt to 2nd October 1898, Crete to 15th April 1899, home to 15th September 1899, South Africa to 24th September 1902, home to 28th March 1906, On the reserve to 2nd May 1910. His service papers confirm this medal, Khedives Sudan, clasp Khartoum, and Queens South Africa, clasps, Belmont, Modder River, Orange Free State, Transvaal, Kinds South Africa with both clasps. Condition – NEF and nicely toned.
