The image has been expertly created using traditional techniques. The mountain, flowing water, bird and blossoms were created using hand stitched embroidery, Yuzen resist dyeing and Sumi-e painting, creating an opulent effect. The subtle color graduations are particularly beautiful. The silk has been drawn over a light wooden frame to be displayed and is deserving of a more elaborate frame to the buyer’s taste. It is in good condition for a vintage silk. Though the silk is worn a little in places, there are no holes or stains present. Old stitch marks are apparent running laterally at the bottom of the image as shown in the photos.Characteristics Height: 48cm, 19 in Width: 59cm, 23 in Material: Japanese silk Meiji period (1868-1912)View Asian Decor Photos Read about Our Asian Antiques
